Jeep Wrangler, One Of A Kind

When you ask the average person to describe an SUV, similar design traits come to light.

Extra seating, lots of cargo space, and exceptional performance are just a few. Most drivers might name a series of popular brands, but not everybody thinks of aJeep. Why? Because the Jeep brand has been so successful in creating a one-of-a-kind vehicle that people associate it as such. But, in reality, the 2017 Jeep Wrangleris an SUV and a rugged contender at that, nonetheless.

Take Your Adventures to New Heights

Designed tough on the outside, adventure starts with the top down. The 2017 Jeep Wrangler was built with full-framed metal door that are also removable. No other SUV in the world lets you take the doors straight off your vehicle, and this makes the Wrangler a hit for outdoor activities like off-roading. It’s also the perfect ride for anybody who’s photographing the journey, because your shot will never be obstructed by a square of window glass. Jeeps have been popularized on world-wide safari tours for this very reason, and this summer, you can create your very own.

Another exciting and exclusive feature on the Jeep Wrangler is the removable hardtop and soft top. The Sunrider Soft Top features large rear windows that are easy to zip off and store. If you feel like letting in some fresh air or sunshine, this is the answer. The hardtop version, on the other hand, lets you remove just the front panels if you choose. The hardtop is great for when you’re exploring off the beaten path, or when it’s raining. Because there are so many removable features on this one-of-a-kind SUV, it’s the perfect ride to be customized. At Williamson Chrysler, our Williamson Customized division and auto detailing centre will transform your Jeep Wrangler into a personalized work of art.

Performance That Stands Out

Voted as Canada’s Most Capable SUV, the 2017 Jeep Wrangler is a leader in power and capability. Using a 3.6L V6 engine, the Wrangler blasts 285 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. torque. And, while the Wrangler might look big and loud, it’s surprisingly quiet, thanks to unique technology like the acoustic engine. This means your chances of spotting a moose en route to Algonquin Park this summer, without scaring it off, are still valid! Off-roading is one of the biggest selling features on the Wrangler models, and Jeep knows it. The 2017 Jeep Wrangler has best-in-class clearance, approach angle, departure angle and manoeuvrability, meaning no rock, tree, or shrubbery can stand in your way as you explore the Canadian north.

Are you ready to get behind the wheel of an SUV that does more? The 2017 Jeep Wrangler is like no other SUV on the market. With tons of opportunity to customize it, you’ll have a vehicle that’s personal and practical for all of your future adventures. Ford F-150 Vs. Ram 1500

Although their model numbers are incredibly similar, the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 couldn’t be more different. Appearances aside, each brand speaks volumes about the class of in-market shoppers they attract.

Besides winning the title of Canada’s most fuel-efficient full-size pickup truck ever, the Ram 1500 Rebel was also recognized by Four Wheeler magazine’s Pickup Truck of the Year thanks to an impressive list of model-specific features.

The Ford F-150 may be built tough, but the Ram 1500 is built tough and smart. Both full-size pickups have a strong presence in the Canadian trucking industry. However, whereas the rugged appearance of the Ford F-150 remains to be seen as strictly a work truck, the Ram 1500 has become increasingly attractive for young families and solo drivers who enjoy the versatility it provides, thanks to its sculpted exterior and refined interior.

Strong, Safe, and Kid-Friendly, Too

More and more families are searching for a vehicle that can be used for the daily work commute, but also function as a kid-friendly, grocery-friendly, and pet-friendly ride as well. Whereas pickup trucks were usually seen being driven by men in hardhats, more and more female drivers are getting behind the wheel of a pickup truck because of how practical they are. In fact, when it comes to actually purchasing a truck, women represent a large portion of the decision-making, and will choose a truck that best represents everybody’s practical needs over flashy selling points.

For drivers who plan on driving the Ram 1500 as a primary vehicle, there are many great safety features to note that make it worthwhile. For starters, it’s been recognized as Canada’s longest-lasting light-duty pickup truck. Standard ABS brakes, sculpted fog lamps, seamless GPS navigation make every drive stress-free. Advanced safety and security features are essential when your children ride along in your truck, which is why Ram 1500 trucks have dynamic crumple zones, side-impact door beams and an advanced airbag systems throughout. Plus, all Ram 1500 truck are designed from a high-strength steel frame, unlike Ford’s softer aluminum frame, with eight ultra-tough cross-members that are engineered to protect you from impact should you be involved in an accident.

A Truck For Work, Play, and Everything In Between

The 2017 Ram 1500 exudes practicality, whereas the Ford F-150 is largely based around available add-on features that cater to the average worker. Inside and out, all new Ram trucks come with standard safety, technology, and entertainment features that make your ride comfortable and safe, while allowing you to remain connected at all times. The Uconnect multimedia centre found in the Ram 1500 is a major selling point. Equipped with an 8.4” colour touch screen display, you can enjoy hands-free communication via Bluetooth, stream your music, and even sync your smartphone to use Siri Eyes Free which reads your texts aloud and sends messages so that your eyes never leave the road. The Media Hub located in the centre console armrest is also perfect for longer trips, and it lets the kids connect their favourite devices so they can listen to music, watch movies, or even play games.

While these amazing entertainment and navigation features come standard on the Ram 1500, if you want the same experience with a Ford F-150, you’ll be paying extra. The Ford’s 8” touch screen, SYNC Connect technology, and 360-degree camera are only available as extra add-on accessories.

At Williamson Chrysler, our Truck People enjoy helping all of our new shoppers find the perfect truck that suits their lifestyle needs. GMC Sierra Vs. Ram 1500

The May Long Weekend Will Be Here Before We Know It.

Every year around this time, campsites throughout Durham region fill up with weekend warriors who are eager to return to the great outdoors.

No camping trip or weekend getaway is complete without a reliable full-size pickup truck, which is where the all-new 2017 Ram 1500 comes in. Recognized as Canada’s longest-lasting full-size light-duty pickup, the Ram 1500 is great on gas, and packed with exceptional features that will make any regular ride an adventure, and add value to every camping trip you take for the rest of the spring and summer months.

 Ready For Anything

Springtime weather is unpredictable, and as you make your way up north to the Kawartha Lakes, taking those back roads can get quite messy. Dirt and gravel roads can be muddy and potholes aren’t uncommon. You’ll need a truck that can tackle even the worst driving conditions. All models in the Ram 1500 class feature a segment-exclusive multilink coil-spring rear suspension system that delivers tough towing and hauling capability, without jeopardizing the comfort of you and your passengers. Even on the bumpiest roads and steepest hills, you can count on a smooth ride from inside the cabin of your Ram 1500.

The coil springs and heavy-duty shock absorbers combine for a lightweight design and take care of any harsh vibrations absorbed by your truck. The Ram 1500 also features an Active-Level Four-Corner Air Suspension system that comes standard on the Rebel and Laramie Limited models, and essentially takes care of all of your hauling and towing needs.

Towing and Hauling Made Easy

No matter how heavy your load is, this system enables you to keep a steady level regarding road-to-vehicle ratio. It also has the incredible ability to increase ride height up to 2-inches above normal, which is perfect for if and when you encounter soggy or muddy ground conditions en route to your campsite. Paired with the Ram 1500’s unique 4WD which includes a 2.64:1 gear reduction ratio, you can flawlessly increase the truck’s power and  for increased power and climb over difficult obstacles, so you can go ahead and pick the campsite that’s off the beaten path! The Ram 1500 can tow up to 10,620 pounds using the 5.7L V8 HEMI engine.

In comparison, the 2017 GMC Sierra put more concentration into its new interior design than it did on the exterior. While those available soft-touch materials and WiFi hotspot may sound intriguing, most campsites now offer free WiFi, and your tent will provide all the comfort you need–not to mention the Ram’s cozy cab, in case you get tired of sleeping on the ground. The GMC Sierra lacks the off-roading package that is a popular hit on the Ram 1500 series, and lacks an underbody transfer case shield, meaning all of that mud, debris, and water you’ll run into on your adventure could seriously damage crucial parts on your pickup truck.

When the time for spring and summer fun ensues, there’s only one truck you can trust. The all-new 2017 Ram 1500 was voted Canada’s longest-lasting full-size pickup, and most fuel-efficient truck for a reason. Don’t turn back because of your truck. Chevrolet Silverado Vs. Ram 1500

Only One Pickup Truck Is Good Enough To Be Called Canada’s Longest-Lasting Light-Duty Pickup.

For more than four decades, Ram trucks have dominated the Canadian automotive market, thanks to their labour-compatible features that support a wide range of industries from province to province. The all-new 2017 Ram 1500 is Canada’s most fuel-efficient full-size pickup truck ever, and it’s built with Canada’s best-selling engine, the 3.6L Pentastar VVT V6.

Despite these cold, hard facts, some skeptics still weigh the odds of purchasing a new Chevrolet Silverado, as opposed to a brand new Ram. Although the Silverado is marketed as a dependable, lightweight light-duty truck, its performance, strength and innovation are nowhere close to the 2017 Ram 1500.

To make things more clear, we’ve decided to let both pick-up trucks go head to head in a knock-out round so you can see for yourself why the only truck you drive should be a Ram.

Get the Job Done with a Full-Size Pickup

Pickup trucks come in handy for all sorts of odd-jobs, or even just regular jobs! A staple vehicle for handymen and professionals alike, a pickup truck provides ample space for all of your tools, and crew member. It should come as no surprise then, that a full-size pickup truck like the 2017 Ram 1500 is the ultimate choice for any project, big or small.

All projects come with a deadline, and when time is of the essence, you never want to waste a minute. With the 2017 Ram 1500, you don’t have to worry about making more than one trip, thanks to an impressive cab design that features three cab configurations ( regular, quad, and crew cab) with three box lengths (5’7”, 6’4”, and 8”). Whether you’re hauling lumber or your tools, the Ram 1500 is spacious enough for one trip.  Depending on which cab you choose, the new 2017 Ram 1500 provides seating for up to six passengers, which means you can ride with the whole crew. The Ram 1500 was actually the very first truck to receive a major award for its interior design, and that legacy continues with Class-Exclusive innovative storage options like the available RamBox cargo management system. The available LED cargo lighting also lets you unload with ease, even in the early mornings or evenings when visibility is low.

Lacking built-in storage, the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado only offers as much cargo as the interior cab and truck bed allow. If it’s raining, you’ll have to transport all of your tools and supplies into the interior of the cab, which isn’t practical when you’ve got passengers riding along. Unlike the Ram 1500, the Chevrolet Silverado does not come with built-in cargo management systems. While the Silverado features fun technology, it seriously lacks the technical performance features that every hard-working truck driver needs, especially when it comes to cargo space and storage versatility.

Canada’s Most Fuel Efficient Truck Lives Here

With the cost of gas rising at the pumps every day, fuel efficiency is one of the most important features truck owners look for in a new truck. The 2017 Ram 1500 was voted Canada’s most fuel-efficient full-size pickup truck ever, and also took home the title of the 2017 Canadian Truck King Challenge.

There are three distinctive engines available on the 2017 Ram 1500, including the standard 3.6L Pentastar VVT V6 or available 5.7L HEMI V8, or even the Class-Exclusive 3.0L EcoDiesel V6. Between the three engines, the 2017 Ram 1500 can produce up to 395 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. torque. Best-in-class fuel economy stems from the standard 3.6L V6 engine that delivers up to 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque for dependable performance and proven reliability. It can get impressive fuel economy as efficient as 9.6 L/100 km (29 mpg) highway using Variable Valve Technology (VVT). The HFE EcoDiesel engine, on the other hand, can fetch 8.0L/100 km (35 mpg) highway. Paired with automatic 8-speed transmission, a Segment-Exclusive Active-Level Four-Corner Air Suspension system, and smart 4WD, it’s no surprise that the 2017 Ram 1500 remains a winner of the Consumer’s Digest Best Buy for 2017.

In comparison, the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado comes very close in fuel economy rankings, but it didn’t win the title of Canada’s most fuel-efficient pick-up truck. Also equipped with three engines (6.2L, 5.3L, and 4.3L), the Silverado unarguably possesses impressive fuel ratings, but in the end it all comes down to the Ram’s superior technology. The Silverado relies on Active Fuel Management, Direct Injection and Continuously Variable Valve Timing, while Ram uses VVT, in partnership with a smart Thermal Management System in the transmission that automatically optimizes your truck’s fluid temperatures to ensure you never waste one drop of gas on the road. To summarize, having the best fuel economy is more than just designing a powerful engine–it’s about having the right systems in order to work in harmony to deliver one powerful truck, and that’s exactly what the 2017 Ram 1500 does.
